Position Summary
The Quality Control person directs the Parts Inspector and works at the direction of the Quality Engineer. This person should have previous mechanical inspection experience and have knowledge of basic manufacturing principles, an understanding of blueprint drawings, and machine shop experience. This person will be responsible for preparing and coordinating with other personnel the preparation and inspection of the parts and overseeing the person who inspects and processes the parts. This person will work in coordination with the Quality Engineer to schedule the inspection process and will be responsible for data-entry documentation, relying on previous experience of mechanical inspection processes. They should have knowledge of calibration and measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and be able to train others. This person will work directly in coordination with the Quality Engineer for the potential increase of work flow.

Job Description
  • Supervise and oversee the Parts Inspector
  • Be capable of mechanical inspection
  • Dimensional data collection and data-entry of documentation
  • Direct team to follow guidelines, functions, and understood procedures
  • Coordinate with Quality Engineer to adhere to job-specific guidelines and convey those specifications to the Parts Inspector
  • Direct team to prepare and inspect parts per specific job requirements
  • Must have a high attention to detail
  • Read calipers, gauges, and micrometers, with the ability to train others
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations

Physical Requirements
  • Machine Shop experience a plus
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist and maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
  • Complete repetitive movements with hands, arms, wrists, shoulders, as necessary
  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that may be uncomfortable
  • Lift, move, or transport items up to 30 pounds without assistance or injury
  • Specific visual abilities to examine parts
  • Wear protective clothing
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
